Anyone wanting to drink alcohol on the streets of central Amsterdam
will face a 90 Euro fine for the next six months.
Drinkers in public spaces in the centre of Amsterdam will
face a 90 Euro fine for six months, according to new legislation aimed at
curbing the level of public disturbances near Dam square and the coach
terminal.
Amsterdam’s security officials are determined to struggle
with people who do not heed the new alcohol regulations.
The government has set the drinking age at 18 for beating
alcohol addiction.
Alcohol ban in the down-town of Amsterdam will be in force
until 1 March 2014.
