The British
government has issued a stark warning that the nation is at a tipping point
with a surge in coronavirus cases. It’s
said that it will impose more restrictions in England unless people follow the
rules.
Boris
Johnson's key medical and scientific advisers are to deliver a televised
briefing on the threat posed by a second wave of the pandemic.
In future
people will be under a legal obligation to self-isolate if they test positive
for the virus — or have been in close contact with an infected person — with
fines of up to £10,000 for failure to comply.
It comes as
Europe faces a surge in Covid cases with new measures to contain infections
being introduced in many countries.
