Should we
run, roast or act? The elected members of the Council of Paris' information and
evaluation mission (MIE), "Paris at 50°C", chose the third option,
concluding six months of work on Friday, April 14. Its members from all
political groups put forward 85 recommendations to prevent the capital from
becoming uninhabitable in the medium term. Since heat waves will intensify and
become more frequent due to climate change, "another urban model must be
designed," according to the 240-page report that Le Monde consulted.(…)
