Geert
Wilders, the prospective Prime Minister of the Netherlands, is set to visit
Hungary and participate in CPAC Hungary in Budapest this April.
Wilders
announced on the social media platform X that he will be part of CPAC Hungary,
expressing gratitude for the invitation from Miklós Szánthó and the Center for
Fundamental Rights. The right-wing Dutch politician whose party won last year’s
elections in the Netherlands, stated: ‘Proud to be there and speak!’
Miklós
Szánthó, the director of the Center for Fundamental Rights, defined CPAC as the
cornerstone of the intellectual hinterland where people of goodwill and their
representatives can join hands. He emphasized that in June in Europe and later
in November in the United States, they will collectively fight for reclaiming
the Western world.
Szánthó
reminded that what was once ridiculed or deemed impossible just a few years or
decades ago—such as the interchange of male and female gender roles,
prioritizing migrants’ sensitivity over everything else, or escalating conflict
in opposition to peace efforts—is now part of the mainstream discourse.
CPAC
Hungary 2024 is scheduled for 25–26 April, with Prime Minister Orbán Viktor
invited as the keynote speaker.
The
Conservative Political Action Conference is a recurring event that serves as a
focal point for conservative voices and ideas. Originating in the United
States, CPAC has expanded its reach globally, including the establishment of
CPAC Hungary.
CPAC
provides a platform for conservative leaders, intellectuals, and activists to
share their perspectives, discuss key issues, and strategize for the future.
The event typically covers a wide range of topics, including but not limited
to, constitutional principles, individual liberties, free-market economics, and
the proper role of government.
