In a short press conference this afternoon, the government called on the government to take really serious measures in the coming week. Otherwise, according to the government, there is a threat of a new lockdown.

 

"It really depends on our behavior," Mark Rutte said in the camera of the NOS. "The pressure on healthcare is only increasing and that is why a change is really needed." Outgoing Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge added: "And that is why it is very important that the cabinet now takes the right measures to prevent a lockdown."

 

The government will announce on 3 December whether a new lockdown is actually necessary. "If it turns out that we have not taken serious measures in the meantime, this may be earlier," Rutte emphasized. "The most important thing is that there is now a change in our behavior."
