Comboio histórico Miradouro regressa no domingo para
ligar Porto e Pocinho
CP suspendeu percurso em 2019, alegando falta de rentabilidade,
uma decisão que foi criticada pela Comunidade Intermunicipal do Douro criticou
decisão.

O comboio
histórico conhecido como Miradouro, que foi suspenso em 2019, regressa a partir
de domingo para “assegurar todas as ligações inter-regionais que circulam entre
o Porto e o Pocinho”, anunciou este sábado a CP – Comboios de Portugal.
“A partir do
próximo dia 12 de Julho [este domingo], o comboio Miradouro passa a assegurar
todas as ligações inter-regionais que circulam entre o Porto e o Pocinho, um
dos trajectos ferroviários mais emblemáticos da nossa rede”, refere um
comunicado da empresa.
O Miradouro é um
comboio histórico cujos percursos foram suspensos em 2019, altura em que a CP
justificou a paragem alegando falta de rentabilidade.
Em 4 de Abril do
ano passado, a Comunidade Intermunicipal do Douro (CIM Douro) classificou como
“escandaloso” o fim deste comboio turístico e anunciou ter pedido reuniões
urgentes à CP e ao Ministério das Infra-estruturas.
No dia 11 do
mesmo mês, o então presidente da CP referiu que os comboios turísticos no Douro
e no Vouga não iriam acabar, justificando o reajustamento em função da taxa de
ocupação e da rendibilidade do produto.
“Temos números de
taxas de ocupação e do número de passageiros transportados. Há uma queda
acentuada de 2017 para 2018. Em 18, caiu. Em função desse comportamento da
procura, houve necessidade de reajustar o modelo. O que é que fizemos?
Mantivemos a oferta, quer no Vouga, quer no Douro, todos os sábados, no período
que vai de Junho a Outubro”, afirmou então Carlos Nogueira.
Recentemente, em
3 de Junho, o ministro das Infra-estruturas e da Habitação, Pedro Nuno Santos,
acompanhado do secretário de Estado das Infra-estruturas, Jorge Delgado, fez
uma viagem no comboio Miradouro, entre o Porto e a Régua, onde foi feita a
apresentação das primeiras carruagens Schindler que entram ao serviço da CP na
Linha do Douro.
A composição do
Miradouro é formada por locomotiva e pelas carruagens Schindler, produzidas na
década de 40 pela fabricante suíça com este nome.
Na sua nota de
hoje, a CP acrescenta que estas carruagens “beneficiam de um grande espaço
interior, de janelas amplas e panorâmicas”, o que proporciona aos clientes uma
forma de “melhor contemplar, ao longo do trajecto, as paisagens do Douro
vinhateiro”.
O comboio
Miradouro resulta de uma aposta da empresa em recuperar um conjunto de material
circulante. Este comboio assegurou o serviço de transporte na Linha do Douro,
entre 1949 e 1977.

The historic
train known as Miradouro, which was suspended in 2019, returns from Sunday to
"ensure all interregional connections that run between Porto and
Pocinho", announced this Saturday CP – Comboios de Portugal.
"From july
12th [this Sunday], the Miradouro train will ensure all interregional
connections that run between Porto and Pocinho, one of the most emblematic rail
routes of our network," says a company statement.
The Viewpoint is
a historic train whose routes were suspended in 2019, when CP justified the
stop claiming lack of profitability.
On 4 April last
year, the Intermunicipal Community of the Douro (CIM Douro) classified as
"scandalous" the end of this tourist train and announced that it had
requested urgent meetings with the CP and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
On the 11th of
the same month, the then president of CP said that the tourist trains in the
Douro and Vouga would not end, justifying the readjustment depending on the
occupancy rate and profitability of the product.
"We have
numbers of occupancy rates and the number of passengers transported. There is a
sharp drop from 2017 to 2018. In 18, it fell. Due to this demand behavior,
there was a need to readjust the model. What have we done? We kept the offer,
both in Vouga and in the Douro, every Saturday, in the period from June to
October", said Carlos Nogueira.
Recently, on June
3, the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Pedro Nuno Santos, accompanied
by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, Jorge Delgado, made a trip on the
Train Miradouro, between Porto and Régua, where the presentation of the first
Schindler carriages that enter the service of the CP on the Douro Line was
made.
The composition
of the Viewpoint consists of locomotive and Schindler carriages, produced in
the 1940s by the Swiss manufacturer by this name.
In its note
today, CP adds that these carriages "benefit from a large interior space,
large and panoramic windows", which provides customers with a way to
"better contemplate, along the way, the landscapes of the Douro
vineyard".
The Viewpoint
train is the result of a company's bet on recovering a set of rolling stock.
This train ensured the transport service on the Douro Line between 1949 and
1977.
