In the
United States, the acting head of
Homeland Security has refused to rule out sending federal forces to resolve
violent protests in Portland, Oregon. Last night a man was shot dead during
confrontations between Black Lives Matter protesters and supporters of
President Trump. The city has become a focus for demonstrations against police
brutality and racism - since the police killing of African-American George
Floyd in Minneapolis in May triggered a wave of national and international
outrage. Nick Bryant's report contains some distressing images.
