UAE Suspends All Trade With Iran After Ballistic Missile Attack

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has indefinitely suspended all trade, commercial exchanges, and financial transactions with Iran following a ballistic missile incident in the Gulf. This marks the most severe economic measure taken by Abu Dhabi against Tehran since regional hostilities escalated.

Key Details of the Escalation

  • The Incident: The UAE Ministry of Defence detected two Iranian ballistic missiles. One fell inside UAE territorial waters and the other just outside. Officials stated the missiles were "targeting maritime traffic".
  • The Economic Freeze: All commercial and banking corridors between the two countries are halted "until further notice". This severely impacts historic Persian Gulf trade routes.
  • Iran's Stance: Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denied the launch. A spokesperson labeled the allegations "baseless" and suggested it was a false flag operation.
  • Context: The attack broke a relative period of calm following the collapse of a U.S.-Iran peace talk window. State-owned ADNOC oil tankers have also faced repeated maritime targeting in recent weeks
