• Disproportionate Scale: The proposed asylum center would house roughly 1,250 individuals, drastically outnumbering Piddington’s local population of around 350 to 400 residents.
• Lack of Consultation: Villagers expressed extreme anger that the Home Office advanced the plans without meaningful local consultation or transparency. 
• Safety and Infrastructure Concerns: Residents raised worries regarding community safety, the strain on rural infrastructure, and the freedom of movement for the large influx of adult males next to residential and play areas.

Government Stance
