António Costa must go to Parliament
to explain his responsibility for uncontrolled immigration
Currently,
there is no formal summons for former Prime Minister António Costa to appear in
the Portuguese Parliament to provide explanations on immigration. However, his
political responsibility for managing migratory flows and dismantling the SEF
has been widely debated in the Assembly of the Republic by parties such as PSD
and Chega.
The
discussion about his legacy in this matter has marked the national political
news, with the current Government blaming the previous socialist executive for
the structural failures and pressure on public services resulting from the
increase in foreign population.
