O
presidente do Chega disse esta terça-feira ter garantia “política e negocial”
que haverá dois nomes indicados pelo PSD e um pelo seu partido para os juízes
para o Tribunal Constitucional, eleições cuja data será definitivamente
proposta na quarta-feira.
“O que
lhe posso dar a garantia é isto. Amanhã, acho que é amanhã [quarta-feira], vai
haver uma conferência de líderes e nessa conferência de líderes, o Chega, e
penso que o PSD também, vão definitivamente propor uma data para a entrega dos
nomes e uma data para a votação com o processo encerrado. Portanto, que amanhã
[quarta-feira], teremos as condições de encerrar isto, o que significa que esse
processo negocial está chegado ao fim”, respondeu aos jornalistas André Ventura
numa conferência de imprensa na sede do Chega, em Lisboa.
A
garantia que Ventura tem, segundo o próprio, “significaria dois nomes indicados
pelo PSD e um nome indicado pelo Chega” na lista para eleição para este órgão
externo.
“Quer
dizer, eu tenho a garantia que o processo chegou ao fim, e chegou ao fim neste
sentido, chegou a bom porto. (…) Estou-lhe a dizer o que é que duas partes que
se sentam à mesa, que levam a cabo uma negociação para ser concluída,
conseguiram fazer. Dois nomes indicados pelo PSD, um nome indicado pelo Chega”,
insistiu.
Para o
presidente do Chega, é preciso reequilibrar órgãos como o Tribunal
Constitucional, o que significa “haver representatividade política e não apenas
domínio do Partido Socialista nas instituições”.
“Porque
acho que isso é errado e devemos corrigir isso. Portanto, sim, tenho essa
garantia. Uma garantia, digamos assim, política e negocial”, respondeu quando
questionado se tinha essa garantia da parte do PSD.
Em causa
está o impasse para a eleição dos órgãos externos para a Assembleia da
República, tendo sido tornadas públicas nos últimos dias discordâncias entre
PSD e PS quanto à indicação dos nomes para o Tribunal Constitucional, que já
motivaram esta semana uma reunião entre o primeiro-ministro, Luís Montenegro, e
o líder do PS, José Luís Carneiro, mas que foi inconclusiva.
Dos três
juízes que têm de ser substituídos, dois foram indicados pelo PSD e um pelo PS,
estando em aberto a possibilidade de o Chega, agora segundo maior partido
parlamentar, entrar neste órgão e de os socialistas ficarem de fora desta
eleição.

Date for
the election of the new judges of the Constitutional Court will be known on

The
president of Chega said this Tuesday that he had a "political and
negotiable" guarantee that there will be two names nominated by the PSD
and one by his party for the judges for the Constitutional Court, elections
whose date will be definitively proposed on Wednesday.
"What
I can guarantee you is this. Tomorrow, I think it's tomorrow [Wednesday], there
will be a conference of leaders and at that conference of leaders, Chega, and I
think the PSD too, will definitely propose a date for the delivery of the names
and a date for the vote with the process closed. Therefore, that tomorrow
[Wednesday], we will be able to close this, which means that this negotiation
process is coming to an end," André Ventura replied to journalists at a
press conference at Chega's headquarters in Lisbon.
The
guarantee that Ventura has, according to him, "would mean two names
nominated by the PSD and one name nominated by Chega" on the list for
election to this external body.
"I
mean, I have the guarantee that the process has come to an end, and it has come
to an end in this sense, it has reached a good port. (…) I am telling you what
two parties sitting at the table, who are carrying out a negotiation to be
concluded, have managed to do. Two names indicated by the PSD, one name
indicated by Chega", he insisted.
For the
president of Chega, it is necessary to rebalance bodies such as the
Constitutional Court, which means "there is political representation and
not just dominance of the Socialist Party in the institutions".
"Because
I think this is wrong and we should correct this. So yes, I have that
assurance. A guarantee, let's say, political and negotiable", he replied
when asked if he had that guarantee from the PSD.
At stake
is the impasse for the election of external bodies for the Assembly of the
Republic, with disagreements between PSD and PS having been made public in
recent days regarding the nomination of names for the Constitutional Court,
which have already motivated a meeting this week between the Prime Minister,
Luís Montenegro, and the leader of the PS, José Luís Carneiro, but that was inconclusive.
Of the
three judges who have to be replaced, two were appointed by the PSD and one by
the PS, with the possibility open that Chega, now the second largest
parliamentary party, will enter this body and that the socialists will be left
out of this election.
