Was Daniel Siad murdered because he Knew too much?

No evidence confirms Daniel Siad was murdered, and French authorities have opened an active investigation to determine his exact cause of death.

The 69-year-old French-Swedish modeling scout, whose name appeared over 2,000 times in the declassified U.S. Department of Justice files regarding the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was found dead at his home in Colombes, a Paris suburb, on Monday, July 20, 2026.

While his sudden death has fueled online speculation and conspiracy theories due to his extensive ties to Epstein's network, official accounts point away from foul play:

  • Official Investigation: The Nanterre prosecutor's office opened a routine inquiry immediately following the discovery of his body, and an autopsy is being performed to establish the formal cause of death.
  • Suspected Heart Attack: Siad's defense attorney, Menya Arab-Tigrine, publicly stated that she suspects he suffered a heart attack. She noted that the intense pressure, daily anguish, and "public disgrace" following the February 2026 launch of the French sex trafficking and rape investigation against him heavily degraded his health.
  • No Immediate Arrest Evidence: Authorities noted that while Siad was under active telephone surveillance and special investigative techniques, there had not yet been enough actionable evidence to justify an immediate arrest before his death.

While an autopsy is pending to confirm the cause of death, Siad's attorney, Menya Arab-Tigrine, indicated to PEOPLE that she suspects he suffered a heart attack driven by immense stress, public disgrace, and "unbearable" daily anguish.

Although the specific criminal case against Siad has been dropped, French prosecutors confirmed that the broader investigation into organized human trafficking and potential co-conspirators remains active
