UK far
right lines up behind Rupert Lowe in challenge to Reform
In
February 2026, Independent MP Rupert Lowe officially converted his Restore
Britain movement into a national political party, positioning it as a
harder-right alternative to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK.
The
launch has attracted significant support from UK far-right factions who view
Reform as too moderate:
Prominent
Activists: Figures such as Steve Laws, a well-known ethnonationalist, and Laura
Towler, co-leader of Patriotic Alternative, have publicly endorsed Lowe, with
Laws declaring him "our leader".
Party
Mergers: Advance UK, led by former Reform deputy leader Ben Habib and backed by
Tommy Robinson, has expressed interest in a merger with Restore Britain.
High-Profile
Backing: Elon Musk has actively promoted Lowe on X, stating he is the
"only one who will actually do it" in contrast to Farage.
Political
Defections: Several Reform UK councillors in Warwickshire and Kent have already
defected to Restore Britain, citing Reform's perceived shift toward the
"centrist" ground.
Policy
Platforms: The party's platform focuses on extreme anti-immigration measures,
including a 113-page document detailing mass deportations for millions of
undocumented migrants.
Lowe's
challenge follows his suspension from Reform UK in March 2025 after a bitter
falling out with Farage, whom he accused of running a "protest party"
led by a "Messiah".
