Sanchez's paradox can be compared to Macron's.
Both invested solely in the prestige of a
well-spoken and eloquent international image but they are both hated in their own countries.
Now that the European right and far-right are
clearly distancing themselves from Trump, inspired and confirmed by Meloni's
image of rupture and distancing and by the explicit positions of criticism of
Trump from Bardella, Sanchez's position loses strength and meaning.
Sanchez's attitude in legalizing 1 million
immigrants is in counter-cycle with Europe and is totally irresponsible
In addition, his career and regime constitute one
of the most scandalous cases of corruption in recent European political
history.
