Fox has made a speeding claim amid his Oxford Union ‘escape’.
The
former actor shared the joke on social media after he was involved in a debate
at the famous society in St Michael’s Street on Wednesday, June 17.
He was
speaking for the motion 'the West is right to be suspicious of Islam' alongside
highly controversial figure Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen
Yaxley-Lennon.
While
there was a large police presence at the Union that did not stop some clashes
between the two groups and one arrest was made.
Reportedly
a number of ticketholders were not able to get into the event, and the debate
was not full.
The
following day, after the event, Mr Fox posted on social media about escaping
the “Oxford be kind nazis” and made the jest about speeding on the journey home
He said:
“Me and the Mrs. @CaliforniaFrizz have finally escaped the Oxford be kind nazis
in the 6.2 litre V8 penguin killer.
Hours
before the debate at the Oxford Union he was spotted emerging from Freedom
Court, the back entrance into the Oxford Union, where he filmed and provoked
the crowds of protesters.
The
former actor must know the city well as his most famous role was as Detective
Inspector James Hathaway in the Oxford-based television series Lewis which ran
from 2006 to 2015.
Following
an appearance on Question Time in 2020, Mr Fox was dropped from his talent
agency and subsequently embarked on a political career that included
unsuccessfully running for London Mayor in 2021.
