Marjorie
Taylor Greene, who called on the administration to “intervene in Trump’s
madness”, adding the president “has gone insane, and all of you are complicit”.
Former
Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly broke with Donald Trump on
Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, calling for his administration to "intervene
in Trump's madness" following a series of profane threats he made toward
Iran.
In a
lengthy post on X, Greene reacted to the president's Truth Social warning that
he would destroy Iranian infrastructure—specifically designating a "Power
Plant Day" and "Bridge Day"—if the Strait of Hormuz remained
closed.
Her
criticism included several sharp accusations:
Insanity:
She explicitly stated that the president "has gone insane" and urged
those in his administration to recognize this.
Complicity:
She told administration officials, "I know all of you and him and he has
gone insane, and all of you are complicit".
Lack of
Christian Faith: Greene argued that Trump is "not a Christian,"
calling his words and actions on the holy day "evil" and
"blasphemous".
Call for
Repentance: She demanded that Christians within the administration "fall
on their knees and beg forgiveness from God" for supporting the
president's rhetoric.
This
fallout follows a period of increasing tension between the former allies, which
reportedly began after a public dispute over the release of the "Epstein
files" in late 2025. Greene has consistently opposed the escalating
conflict with Iran, accusing the administration of fighting "unprovoked
wars" based on "lies".
