António José Seguro wins presidential election
António
José Seguro won the presidential elections in Portugal, according to exit
polls. The projection of RTP/Católica states that the socialist candidate
collected between 68% and 73% of the votes. André Ventura was 27% to 32% of the
vote.

All the
projections of the results of the second round of the presidential elections
advanced by the various Portuguese televisions give the victory to António José
Seguro. A comfortable result for the socialist, with more than double the votes
of André Ventura.
António
José Seguro will be the new President of Portugal and the vote may even exceed
70%, taking into account the polls.
The
projection of the Catholic University for RTP places António José Seguro
between 68% and 73%. André Ventura, leader of the far-right party Chega, could
get between 27% and 32% of the votes.
Abstention
should increase compared to the first round. By 4 pm, 45.5% of registered
voters had voted, data from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal
Affairs.
