President-elect
Donald J. Trump hosted an event at his golf club in Sterling, Va., on Saturday

Mr. Trump announced earlier that he would move his inauguration ceremony inside the Capitol Rotunda on Monday because extreme cold is forecast. The Rotunda only seats about 600 people, and Trump officials received calls from donors on Friday asking for help getting access. Mr. Trump said that people could gather to watch inaugural events at the 20,000-seat Capital One Arena, which is several blocks from the National Mall, and that the inaugural parade was essentially canceled and would be incorporated into the viewing party at the arena.
Just two
days before Mr. Trump’s inauguration, thousands of people attended the People’s
March across Washington. Despite the damp and chilly weather on Saturday,
demonstrators came out to rally against Mr. Trump’s hard-right plans for the
country and show support for causes like civil rights, racial justice,
immigration and gun violence prevention.
