Based on
information from early 2025 and early 2026, former Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe
holds an extremely negative view of the top team at Reform UK, particularly
leader Nigel Farage and chairman Zia Yusuf. After being suspended from the
party in March 2025, Lowe has launched a rival party, "Restore
Britain," and branded the Reform leadership a "cult".
His views
on the Reform UK top team include:
Nigel
Farage: Lowe has described Farage as a "cult leader," a
"coward," and a "viper". Following his suspension, Lowe
claimed the party is a "protest party led by the Messiah" and that
Farage is a "ballroom entertainer" not fit to be leader.
Zia Yusuf
(Chairman) & Top Team: Lowe has accused the leadership, specifically
mentioning Zia Yusuf, of operating a "malicious witch hunt" against
him. He has described the team surrounding Farage as "very long-term
lightweight sort of servants".
Overall
Management: Lowe accused the leadership of having "zero integrity"
and running a "cult" that expunges anyone with a different opinion.
He claimed he was the victim of a "political assassination attempt"
after raising constructive questions.
Relationship
with Top Team: In July 2025, Lowe stated he would "never work with Nigel
Farage, Richard Tice, Lee Anderson or Zia Yusuf again".
Lowe's
feud with the party top team escalated after he was reported to the police by
Reform UK following allegations of bullying and making threats against Zia
Yusuf, which Lowe denies.
