Elon Musk has told Tommy Robinson that protesters must “either fight back or you die” as he appeared via video at the huge march organised by the far-right figure on Saturday in London.

The Metropolitan Police said 25 people have been arrested so far, after 26 officers were injured– including four who were seriously hurt – in scenes of “unacceptable violence”.

Between 110,000 to 150,000, were estimated to have joined the “Unite the Kingdom” rally.

In conversation with Robinson on stage in the afternoon, Musk also claimed a “dissolution of parliament” and a “change of government” is needed in the UK.

Political leaders condemned Musk, with Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey sating that he “doesn’t care about the British people or our rights” and a Labour source saying that politicians who believe in democracy “should distance themselves from these disgusting comments”.

The Met said around 5,000 people were at an anti-racism counter-protest organised by Stand Up To Racism (SUTR), with over 1,000 officers deployed in a bid to prevent clashes..

Meanwhile, prime minister Keir Starmer was spotted watching his favourite team, Arsenal, play in London on Saturday.

Rally showed free speech 'alive and well', minister says

Business Secretary Peter Kyle has said the number of people who turned out for a Tommy Robinson “Unite the Kingdom” protest shows free speech is “alive and well” in the UK.

He told Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips on Sky News: “It doesn’t disturb me, because it’s actually proof that we live in a country where free speech, free association, is alive and well.

“The bit that disturbs me is that when a minority go to an extreme and end up perpetrating violence against the police – that is unacceptable and those people should and will pay a price for it.”

Put to him that those protesting are concerned about migrants, free speech and the decline of the Christian religion, he said: “The flag was waved a lot. You know, I do want to make the point, that flag belongs to all of us, and that flag means a lot of different things to a lot of different people, but it is about essential British and yes, in this case, English values and principles.

“Those English values and principles include free speech, freedom of association and the like.

“All of those things are demonstrated just by the fact that that protest went along, and that demonstration went along completely freely. shows that those values are actually alive and well.”

Musk comments "totally inappropriate", minister says

Business Secretary Peter Kyle has criticised comments made by Elon Musk during yesterday’s Unite the Kingdom rally.

Elon Musk called for a change of Government in the UK and railed against the “woke mind virus” as he spoke at Tommy Robinson’s event in London.

Mr Kyle said on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg: “I thought they were slightly incomprehensible comments that were totally inappropriate”

'Long way to go' for Labour addressing issues after rally, says MP

A Labour MP has said the party as “a long way to go” in order to address some issues raised by those attending yesterday’s march in London.

Rosena Allin-Khan, Labour MP for Tooting admitted the party “does not look as united as we should be” currently.

Speaking on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, she said Labour has to show people “we are championing what’s important to them”.

Speaking about the huge crowds in London on Saturday she said: “Yes, of course there are bad actors at play in there, there are people who are racist to their core.

“But there were also a lot of people in there who aren’t naturally racist or fascist desperate for some answers. They want to know, what happens to them if they can’t get an NHS appointment, if their children can’t buy a house near where they live.

“They are there because there are deep rooted issues that need addressing and this government have to show that they’re listening.”

Asked whether the government was listening she said: “There’s a long way to go.”

'Complete and utter shambles'

Piers Morgan has said the scale of yesterday’s protest shows the country is in a “complete and utter shambles”.

He said on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg: “It’s a shambles politically and it’s a shambles with policy in particular.

“I think most people in this country feel Labour has lost control, don’t really know what they’re doing. The country is rudderless and they’re crying out for proper leadership.”
